Digital Technologies are electronic tools, systems, devices and resources that generate, store or process data and include social media, online games, multimedia and mobile phones. Digital Learning is learning that uses technology and happens across all curriculum areas. Block Coding is taught with BeeBots (F), Ozobot (1), Edison (2), Sphero (3) and CodeBug (4) robots as well as coding in Minecraft Education app in Years 5 & 6. The VCAA website provides the framework for the curriculum. The 3 strands of this program include: Digital Systems. Creating Digital Solutions and Data & Information. Foundation to Year 4 students attend weekly specialist Digital Technologies lessons in a Windows PC lab, as well as developing digital literacy and media studies in the classroom with iPads. Year 5/6 students have a BYOD iPad program with their own device and agreed apps and attend specialist Media lessons each week.
Each classroom has an IWB with Apple TV. An Edupass username and password allows them to access Office 365 apps both at home/school by clicking https://www.edustar.vic.edu.au/o365. Families can download the Microsoft apps on Office 365 free on any device using these details when enrolled in a Victorian Government school.
